Sibelius’ Violin Concerto is considered to be one of the greatest works in the genre from the twentieth century, and is performed in this concert by a rising European star, the charismatic Lithuanian, Julian Rachlin. The Philharmonia Orchestra and Leif Segerstam perform the concerto with him, and also the delightful Karelia Suite.
